Butcher – The Art of Butchering
As a butcher, you play a key role in handling high-quality food products and use your technical skills to ensure that meat is processed properly and provided in the best possible quality. In a production setting, your responsibilities will include the following:

Income, Salary, and Hourly Wage

You can start your career with us as a butcher, production worker, order picker, or technician—depending on your professional experience, qualifications, and interests.

We warmly welcome career changers to our production and order-picking teams—what matters most is reliability, physical stamina, and a desire to learn new things. For the butcher position, training in the butchery trade is an advantage but not required; career changers such as cooks also have good prospects. For the technician position, a completed technical training program is a prerequisite.

Many of our managers start out as employees or apprentices, go on to become department heads, and eventually advance to the role of market manager. In addition, there are opportunities to take on other leadership positions within the REWE Group.

You will receive structured training from experienced colleagues and get to know the internal processes, machines, equipment, and procedures step by step.

That depends on the specific job. As a production worker, you’ll work regular hours during the week; the same applies to order picking, which has predictable daily schedules.
