Ellmau: World-famous as the filming location for *Der Bergdoktor*

Ellmau is located at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser Nature Reserve and, since 2008, has become known far beyond Tyrol as the main setting for the TV series *Der Bergdoktor*. As part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, the modern Hartkaiserbahn takes you to the hiking and skiing area year-round, while two golf courses and marked bike trails round out the town’s offerings. The state highway provides good connections to the neighboring towns of Going and Scheffau. After work, a hike to the Ellmau Stone Circle high above the village is the perfect way to unwind.
