Kapfenberg: A Steel Town Rich in Tradition in the Mürz Valley

Since its acquisition by the Böhler brothers, Kapfenberg has been known as a steel town and, with companies such as voestalpine Böhler and Pankl Racing, has developed into a major industrial hub in Upper Styria. As a transportation hub with connections to the S6 and the extensive bus network operated by Mürztaler Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG), you can reliably reach your workplace, even from neighboring towns such as Bruck an der Mur or Kindberg. The excellent connections to educational institutions such as the HTL and FH also make Kapfenberg an attractive location for young professionals just starting their careers. After work, it’s worth taking a trip to Oberkapfenberg Castle or exploring the surrounding mountains of the Mürztal valley.
