Mayrhofen: A tourist hub in the upper Zillertal Valley

Mayrhofen is located in the Schwaz district at the point where the side valleys of Zemmtal, Stillupgrund, Zillergrund, and Tuxertal converge, and, with an area of approximately 178 square kilometers, is the fourth-largest municipality in Tyrol. As one of the most famous destinations for alpine skiing—and a place shaped by mountaineering legends such as Peter Habeler—the town boasts a large ski area featuring the Ahorn and Penken mountains. The Zillertalbahn railway connects Mayrhofen to Jenbach every half hour, linking it to the neighboring municipalities of Finkenberg and Hippach. After work, the nature park visitor center of the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park invites you to take a trip.
